Fall’s Back, Move Forward

November 4, 2010

Fall is beautiful, even though I resist the change every year. Why let go of the sunny, warm, long days in exchange for the opposing winter months? As the uncomfortable season begins for me so does the growth that can only unveil in moments of hardship.

Perhaps I’m making it sound more dramatic than necessary, but even the risk of slight discomfort can bring a revelation and chance to grow. It’s been a long time since I’ve written, (I wonder how many blogs have that sentence in them?) but I slacked off thinking that no one was reading. When I learned that at least two people had asked what happened to the blog, I knew I had to get back to writing. One is enough audience for me, but two is a full house!

Another reason for the writing abandonment was because I have been busy trying to grow in this new season of my life. I’m developing as a media personality and have other passions in my life that I want to succeed. It’s required a lot of energy and is still testing my faith.

If this blog might even slightly inspire you then I’m happy to continue. Besides, you encourage me. You’re kind hearts during Harvest of Clothing, Diaper Drives, and Sharathons are indescribable. If it doesn’t seem like I’m posting often it’s not because I don’t care, it’s because I’m learning how to make the most out of this life I’ve been blessed with. Hopefully, then I can write things worthy of your reading time.

A lot has changed at 88.3 The Wind in the last year. Aaron joined us in February, interns took over the summer, Ben is with the Lord now, and Chalmer is our station manager. These were all changes that occurred much like the seasons – they came as God planned, and God was here to walk us through the phases. Even when life gets very uncomfortable and it seems like you are abandoned, you always have God. Life might mix us up at times but He will make sure we are all where we need to be…in any season. If only I could take the pictures from my mind and put them into the computer. My family and I live in the country and live on one of the many Ozarks hills and from the view from our house you can see a whole valley turned brown and red and a little yellow and green. But we don’t have any good pictures of it. Will try to get some next year. We do have some good pictures of Winter, though.
